Owen Howells
Science teacher
With a degree in Applied Chemistry, Owen started as a Water Analyst at the Water Research Centre. He conducted exciting research on carbonate sediments in Florida Bay with the Open University and Miami University. Later, he taught at Open University summer schools before moving into teaching full-time.
Owen’s passion for chemistry is matched by his culinary skills, especially in Asian and Italian cooking. He’s also an avid fisherman, enjoying river fishing, fly fishing at night, and coarse fishing. His gardening expertise ranges from the precision of Kew Gardens to the natural beauty of a nature reserve. Owen brings science to life, making chemistry exciting and relatable.
